MY DREAM HOUSE!!!!!!!

99.9% of the time I would be completely upset for encountering construction on my normal route home from the grocery store, yesterday was NOT one of those days. It so happens that because of this unknown construction I was forced to turn down Grant street (about 6 blocks east of my house). At the end of Grant street there it was......... standing there all alone, all big and beautiful, everything a house should be. It was screaming " Brittany and Eddie come live in me". It was love at first site.

I know what you are thinking........ this must be some multi-million dollar home with like 300 rooms and a swimming pool. WRONG!!!! I have expensive taste but not that bad. After looking at it for about 5 minutes I drove home to my wonderful husband, put my best pout face on, batted my eyelashes and begged him to buy me this house. After about 5 minutes of him laughing at me, he reminded me that we already bought a house that had my dream kitchen. Plus we have only been living in our current home for a little over a year and if we sold it now we would have to pay capital gain tax or something. I know, I know, I have a beautiful home and we are very blessed to have it. But still it was perfect I tell you. Here is the link . There is only the picture of the outside and the price which is a some what out of our price range even if we were in the market to buy a house.
Even though it was impossible for us to buy this house, Eddie took me to go look at it, we peeked through the windows and walked around the yard. It made it that much more perfect. Needless to say my dreams were smashed like a mosquito on a leg.

OH WELL! it never hurts to day dream. Thank you Eddie for humoring me and taking me to go look at it. You are the best. I love you.

Friday Notes!!!!

1. Today Eddie and myself are heading to the great outdoors for a two night camping trip in the beautiful Uinta Mountains. My parents, Destiny and Mike will join us Saturday afternoon. We will do some fishing, some hiking, some game playing but mostly some relaxing. FUN FACT: In the Two and a half years Eddie and I have been together we have gone camping about a dozen times so far, but this will only be the second time Eddie and I have ever gone alone(for the first night of this trip anyway).

2. I am right on schedule with my weight loss goals I have lost four more pounds in the last 2 weeks (I guess I am a pound off but I think that is from the muscle I have gained). That brings me to total of 8 pounds I have said good bye to.

3. I got a new camera. More details on that later.

4. I broke my cell phone. Funny thing cell phones don't like water. But Eddie was my hero (details to follow in later post)

5. I have been the only one that has posted a Recipe on the Culinary Queens Blog. Hint, Hint. Correction: there has been two posts. One for cookies, from Aubrey. Thank you again that looks like a really good recipe.

6. I have to tell everyone I have a friend named Joan. She is one of the coolest, smartest, Kindest, interesting and best friends I have ever had. Before I meet Eddie she helped my change my life in such a positive way. She has helped me heal in areas of my life and she really helped me get over my relationship fears when I first meet Eddie. Joan, you are one amazing person. I am so happy that you are following your dreams and I know you can do it. I love you, woman. Eddie and I enjoy hanging out with you, Dayn and Julian. I truly believe my life is blessed by having you and your family in it.

7. My husband is out of this world amazing. don't worry I have saved the details of that for another post. THANK YOU EDDIE !!!

8. Yet again, I have had toooooooooooooo much Coffee.

Have a wonderful, safe and adventure filled weekend.

I got my Behind Kicked and I loved It !!!

So I have to admit I feel Like Rocky Balboa this morning....Why? you ask. Well because last night at 7:00 pm my wonderful, talented and beautiful sister-in-law Beckah (a.k.a. Mohammed Ali)introduced me to the wonderful world of Kickboxing.

Definition of Kickboxing:
A martial art and sport of attack and defense, in which competitors wear boxing gloves and throw punches as in boxing and kick with their bare feet as in karate.

Beckah and I are taking a Cardio Kickboxing class....NO, we are not fighting other people, but we sure did show the kickboxing dummy, who was the boss last night. I have never had as much fun exercising as I did last night. I was laughing, I was sweating, I was punching and I was kicking and I was even dancing a little bit. the only problem was I forget what right and left were last night and after the 10th time I accidentally kicked Beckah she so kindly would remind me what way I needed to be kicking...Sorry Beckah !!!

When I got home from my class my husband decided he wanted me to show him my new moves. I warned him that I could kick his behind, but he did not care. He got in his fighting pose and we were off. I sure did surprise him with a few jabs to the ribs, and upper cut and to finish him off I kicked in the side. Don't worry he should be fine he only has to wear the full body cast for the next 6 months.

To top all the excitement off, tonight Beckah and I are going to go buy pink boxing gloves... That alone will improve our skills about 110%. I will keep you posted on our walk to kickboxing fame.
PLEASE NOTE: No Eddies were harmed in the making of this posting.

This Puts me in a Bubbly Mood !!!

All I Want Is You Lyrics- Barry Louis Polisar

If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
Just as long as you were with me, when the cold winds blow.

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, well I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

This song just makes me happy. It makes me think of Eddie and how much love we share. This song was on the intro to the movie Juno. I prefer the Cover by Tristan Prettyman rather than the original. If you would like to hear it Click Here. It should be the first song on the play list. If not just click on it from there. Happy Monday.

Doing The Math!!!

My goal is to lose 20 pound by September 20th. I have lost 5 of the 20 pounds so far. That leaves 15 pounds I need to lose in a little under 7 weeks. That means I need to lose around 2.5 pounds a week to reach my goal. There are 48 days until September 20th, I have to lose about 0.3125 pounds a day. I think I can handle that.

I want to lose 20 pounds...
  • For my Health.
  • For my Self Esteem.
  • To be able to know in my mind that my husband thinks I look hot without him having to tell me everyday like he does now.
  • To look at my body in the mirror and truly like what I see.
  • To not freak out at the thought of wearing a Bikini in public.
  • To weigh what I weighed 2 years ago.
  • To be a size 4 again... well at least a loose size 6.
  • For the simple fact that I don't want to be one of those wives that "let's her self go", just because I know my husband would love me anyway (and he would).
  • To say I did It. " I lost 20 pounds".
  • So when I watch TV, look at a magazine or see my friends I don't wish I had their body.
  • To save my husband's sanity from having to tell me I am not to fat ten times a day.
  • To save my sanity from having to ask my husband if I look fat, just to fell better about my body when he tells me I'm not.
  • Because in the process I will learn how to kick box and hand out with Beckah more.
  • Because in the process it is fun working out with my husband.
  • To feel healthy and to be a healthy weight for my body size.
  • To be proud of myself.

My Husband doesn't think I need to loose the weight, but knows if I do I will be a lot happier with myself. He also knows that I do a lot better if I have a little extra incentive to reach my goals. He has offered me to really great incentives If I reach my goal by September 20th...

He will give me $200.00 Shopping spree for all new clothing.

And best of all if I can maintain the weight I lost until December 31st, I can have another puppy. I want a Newfoundland or a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.

My biggest obstacles when it comes to losing the weight...

  • My mind set, most days I really don't think I can do it.
  • I really need a better scale the one I have really doesn't work very well.
  • I love to eat deep fried foods.
  • Chocolate tastes better to me when I eat it by the pounds.
  • I like to cook what I want to eat for dinner rather then what really would be good for me to eat.
  • I ate a big mac for the first time in 6 months last week (while baby sitting London) and now all I want are big macs. (although I haven't acted on the want)
  • My motivation to exercise comes from the chance to be with the person I am exercising with, when no one my motivation isn't either.
  • I eat health food 90% of the time. I just eat a lot of it, why have a half a breast of chicken when I can have 2.
  • I am really not as educated as I could be about what foods are really good for me, I eat what I know is good but what I know is good is limited.

My Biggest help when it comes to loosing weight...

  • My husband is so positive about this all.
  • I love to eat fruit.
  • I like to work out when I finally get my butt in gear.
  • I enjoy new recipes, I just need to find health ones.
  • I am always up for a challenge
  • I have already lost 5 pounds
  • I have a goal date.
  • I have incentive
  • I am so tired of being unhappy with my body, I have to do something about it.
  • I drink water like it is going out of style.
  • Ever once and a while I actually think I can do this.

I am not posting this so I can hear "You don't need to lose weight" I would actually prefer if I never heard that statement again. I am posting this for 1) If more people know my goals I feel more accountable for my actions and it motivates me (It is like a challenge). 2) I need constructive criticism and last but not least I am always open to new ideas and helpful tips. So if you have any experience in this area please feel free to share your thoughts.

Peace, Love and Apple Sauce !!!!
