What Happens in Vegas....... will be posted on my blog !!!! I am so excited Eddie, Destiny, Mike and myself leave for our Las Vegas in a little over a week. We decided to take a vacation to Las Vegas after we found out my work was paying for me and my spouse(Eddie)to go to a conference in Mesquite,NV. We figure if we were going to be in that area anyway we should take a few more days off and head down to Vegas(which is like a hour and a half away). We will spend 2 days in Mesquite and 4 days in Las Vegas.
It has been about 7 years since I have been to Vegas and Eddie has never been. We want to see everything the strip has to offer. The 2 times I have been down there I never had the chance to visit the old strip, so that is definitely on our to-do list. My cousin John lives down there,so will will get to visit with him. We will be staying at the Luxor(the hotel that is shaped like a pyramid).
What are some of the cool places you have been to in Vegas? What would you say are the "must see" places in Vegas?

I wanted to tell you, you HAVE to go to the rio off the strip (the hotel) and do their buffet there. It is AMAZING. I hear the deals in Vegas are stellar now with the economy, so check out shows. I hear they are cheap. Blue Man Group is cool. I hear Cirque de Soliel is worth it too. As you travel the strip remember that you CAN walk. But there are monorails that are free, so use them as much as you want to hop from one place to the other.
I recommend watching the gamblers but don't gamble. Not for any moral reason. Its just dumb to lose your money and you will lose it so don't do it. But if you do, practice playing blackjack or craps online first ;).
Be prepared to inhale lots of smoke. February is a good time to go because the weather is ideal. Bring your camera!
If you are able to eat at Maggianos (sp?) DO IT! We went to Vegas for a conference when I worked at Amerinet and they took us to Maggianos for dinner one night and the tirmisu was amazing. It's somewhere on the strip but I don't know where.
I remember seeing a "topless mechanical bull riding" sign out the window...

I'm jealous! I want to go back to Vegas! By the way I think i am going to take you up on your offer. Let me know if a preschool position becomes available. I really really want out of my job right now. I am tired of the commute. Granted I know that I won't be able to get a job right now, but if you can keep your eye open that would be wonderful! Besides, I love teaching the three year old class I am in right now! Thanks Britt!
