Welcome back to class. Did everyone enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday break? We know we did. This years assignment was to enjoy food and family, and to maybe try something new for dinner. We've gotten so good at regular turkey and smashed potatoes that we were hoping to explore the recipe book and find something truly great! Brittany did a wonderful job this year, as we hosted her family, the Kerr's over at our new house. She really showed off the new kitchen very nicely.
Brittany tried her hand at Phyllis Greenwood's famous cheesy potato casserole (I think the recipe may have come from MO). The potatoes were perfect! Also she baked a turkey that soaked in a very tasty brine for about a week. Eddie deep fried his first turkey and it was very tasty, juicy, and the skin was a perfect golden brown. Very Yummy! Here is a picture of the two turkeys. Brittany's turkey's skin looks dark in the pictures but I assure you it was a very yummy bird.
There was a lot of fun had by the Greenwood's and the Kerr's this year. After we ate dinner, there was a fierce "Guitar Hero-off" and Brittany and Eddie took home the championship! Thanks to Mike In for providing the entertainment. We then enjoyed some very good pumpkin carmel cheese cake that Destiny, Brittany's sister, made. Eddie Greenwood wrapped up the night with some awesome magic tricks that he learned from the great Chris Angel. Ask Eddie to read your mind, it's quite amazing. The day after Thanksgiving Eddie and Brittany decorated the house for Christmas and all was jolly. There are tons of presents under the tree for everyone attending the Greenwood and Kerr classes. Well, thats all for today students. Thanks for attending and we'll see you next time. The homework assignemnt will be to get through the christmas season alive and well. To give gifts and to love all, and to remember Jesus' birth. Not to forget peace on earth. Happy Holidays to all!
